► Personal Information

» Personality: [ + Quiet | + Focused | + Kindhearted | + Humble ] [ - Weak-willed | - Oblivious | - Introverted | - Lonely ]
Leslie is a very quiet individual. They rarely talk over than a hushed tone, and they would befit the role of a background character rather than the protagonist. Perhaps because of their tendency to never speak up, they get pushed around easily and doesn't really argue when they don't want to do something. They are fearful of confrontation and would rather do whatever someone wants them to do to avoid a fight. It some situations they will show courage when it matters (i.e. when someone is in danger), but when it comes to aggressive individuals pressuring them, they rather give in than to make a stink.
They are rather focused -- once they put their mind to a task, they become invested in it. Their focus makes them highly informed in certain subjects, some less strange than others. This focus also allows them to become a quick learner, but only if they already had interest in it to begin with. If something doesn't interest them, they are rather oblivious and sometimes show obvious disinterest in the subject, though depending on the individual they are interacting it, they would humor it. They sometime miss social cues and hints, flying right over their head without them realizing it when they are so focused on something like what someone is saying rather than what they are gesturing or suggesting. It's best to be blunt with them whenever possible when you want to get a point across to them. They don't seem to mind when people are being straightforward, and they seem to perfer upfront honesty than double meaning.
Because of their lack of social graces, they are introverted. They do not do great in large groups since they tend to disappear into the background, and being around many individuals for long periods of time can sometimes exhaust them. However, they crave companionship and oftentimes become lonely, wishing they weren't so socially inept. Leslie treasures whatever friends they have, even if its only individuals that they consider aquaintances. They fair better in smaller company, three people at the most, and prefer quiet activities than exciting ones. Despite seeming like a loner, they are very kind to others. They enjoy helping others whenever they can and offers advice when possible, even if they haven't talked to the persons in question before. They are more than willing to go out their way or to sacrifice something (whether it'd be their time or something of material) for someone else. They are humble and don't try to act like they are better than anyone -- this is perhaps because of their middle class upbringing and only entering the higher standard of living when their mother remarried.

» History:
Leslie was born in Sootopolis City to a young, middle class couple. They were a rather quiet child, but that did not bother their parents -- as being their only kid, they doted on them and gave them a lot of attention. Leslie soaked this up like a sponge, though it did not seem to spoil them and make them arrogrant, and his childhood was spent with them as their two best friends. Sootopolis was the perfect place for a young Seel to grow, though most of the residents of the crater city were adults and elders. Leslie did not seem to mind hanging around older company, though. They enjoyed the stories they told -- oe day an old Pokemon told them about how Sootopolis was made, how a meteor crashed into the ocean and created the crater that developed into the city they were in that day. This sparked Leslie's imagination and curiosity, and they started to become highly interested in space, sometimes staying up late to look at the night sky reflected on the water that surrounded their home. Their curiosity started with meteors and other space rock, but they started to question more about space, like stars and planets. They already knew about the ocean depths from exploring them since they were young, so space was almost like the final frontier for them. They also began to become interested in other strange subjects, including rock collecting, studying night and day patterns, swimming at night, and observing the sky a lot. Most of these quiet activities were somwhat "boring" to other children, but Leslie impressed their fellows with their knowledge and collections. Despite their percular interests, their parents supported them, and encouraged their child to go into whatever they enjoyed.

During one winter the Fiaher family went camping near Fallabor Town, close to Meteor Falls. Leslie was ecstatic, having the time of their life as they poked around the craters that littered Meteor Falls and swimming and exploring the waterfalls. While they were there, they found a rock they claim to be a meteorite fragment, and it soon became one of their most precious possessions. At night their father would tell them stories about legendary Pokemon, and of course, Leslie was most interested in the ones that were involved in space, such as Deoxys and Palkia. They also learned about Jirachi, the wishgranter, and they became highly interested in them. They were told about their 1,000 year slumber, and in all their child's naviety, wanted to see Jirachi when they woke up so they wouldn't be lonely after sleeping for so long. This started their interested in myths centered around legendary Pokemon, and became invested in their stories and sightings alongside his space studies.

When they were ten years old, they were slated to attend a space camp at Mossdeep City over the summer when their father stopped coming home all of a sudden. Nothing appeared amiss before he left, and after a few days Leslie noticed he had never came back. This confused them, but their mother seemed to act as if nothing was wrong, and when her child asked about it, she brushed them off or distracted them with something else. Later Leslie was told that their father actually walked out on them, though the reason why was never explained to them, their mother holding back any details about it. Unwillingly they went to the space camp, hardly enjoying themself while their mind was occupied on their father and wondering why he left them without saying much of a goodbye. They decided that, for whatever reason, their mother must have been lying to them, and that one day they would find their father and enjoy their company once more. If all else failed, they thought, they could find Jirachi and wish to find their father. Despite starting to grow out some of the more childish myths, they clung onto the legend of Jirachi, refusing to believe that they wouldn't be able to find their father again.

When Leslie had returned from the space camp, their mother was engaged a man they had never met before. He was a rich individual, and seemed kind at first, but soon he was shown to be a distant and blunt individual that showed no-nonsense to the child. They began to withdraw themself from their mother and even their friends as they became shut in their room in an attempt to isolate themelf from what was all going on. Everything was going too fast for Leslie, but their mother did not seem to notice, as soon after the two were married. While Leslie tried to stay out of their way and just kept themself to their studies, their stepfather still did not approve of them. They thought that their intense focus on space and rocks and myths were "misplaced" and the interests too "naive" for a child their age to indugle. Leslie ignored him for the most part. However, their silent treatment resulted dire consequences. When they were thirteen their stepfather became annoyed that they continued to pursue their "ridiculous" interests, and threw out most of their rock collection and books. The only survivor was the meteorite fragment that Leslie kept on them at all times. After that, the stepfather enrolled them into St. Mortiel, saying that school would help them developed into a "cultured" person with "reasonable ambitions." The school was chosen since he himself was an alumni of the school, and saw that it was only befitting for his stepchild to attend it as well. Leslie did not have much say in the matter, and didn't have anything to say at all, being devastated that their collections were completely gone. Feeling out of place with the more upstanding children, they became the most reclusive they have ever been in their life, and tried to quietly get through school, all the while planning to go into space studies despite their stepfather's wishes.
